EP51 | Lead your world

You've probably heard me use the phrase LEAD YOUR WORLD a lot.
I don't mean lead THE world, although there's definitely a leadership crisis in much of the world right now.

But being a leader of your world is at the heart of what I do. Because unless we can be the leader of our own lives we can't really successfully create our own incomes... or be the leader of our own businesses.

When I say 'world' I mean that sphere of influence that you have on the outside - are you inspiring, influencing, empowering those around you? And I also mean, the inner world as well - are you leading your thoughts, your emotional reactions, your health, you wellbeing?

The opposite to leading your world is being a follower or a reactor to life. We are all naturally well trained at doing that. Just think of social media. How much time do you spend following what everyone else does, and not being your own unique self leading your won way. I'm not saying that following is wrong, as we can...

EP50 | WowArchetypes & productivity

Can all personality types be great at time management? It depends. Some are definitely more prone to distraction (I'm talking to you PassionMakers), whilst others get bogged down in perfectionism (ah hum... HeartMakers). This short teaching episode gives each of the four WowArchetypes some tips on being more productive in business.

EP49 | Who do you think you are?

When I was a really young, like 3-4, I used to want to be invisible. Then I went through a super shy phase and I couldn’t even smile when a camera was out. When I was 13 I got my hair cut really short and I remember a boy in my class saying ‘who do you think you are’!

I wasn’t raised to lead. Most of us aren’t. So we feel awkward saying ‘I’m an expert in.....’

But we must. As an entrepreneur, artist, author, photographer, ________ (fill in the blank), we must be brave and be known for something. We must take the lead. In something. And it’s more than a matter of positioning, although that is key if you want to grow a great business.

Otherwise we are invisible and our worlds miss out on what we have to give. So here’s a question... what are you known for? What are you the best at? What are you the leader in?

Time to lead. Our world needs you. Who do you think you are? You are remarkable.

EP48 | Permission granted

One of the biggest mindset blocks that women especially carry around in their heads is one of 'permission'. Permission to have their own business. Permission to do what's on their heart. Permission to be great. This podcast explores that.

EP45 | My dates with Queen Elizabeth I

Every time I visit London I go to the National Portrait Gallery in Trafalgar Square for another date with the most celebrated Queen Elizabeth I. I sit and watch her and try and get into her head. What was she thinking? How did she manage to reign and rule for so long in a world that was in economic, religious and political upheaval. This is a fun episode that challenges us to be more like QE1!

EP44 | Tales from brain surgery

About 20 years ago I was working or a cutting-edge change management consultancy and I was privileged to read a transcript of a lecture by an esteemed brain surgeon. He studied how blood moved around the brain and also how to protect intelligence when operating. I was fascinated, and so put into practice the things he suggested in his lecture. The result is this podcast, where I share what I discovered. And guess what... he was right!

EP43 | WowArchetypes & Leadership

Are all WowArchetypes leaders? Can all WowArchetypes really be suited to entrepreneurship? The answer is... yes! They just lead differently, and that's okay! Leadership is not a personality type. Today's episode explores how each of the WowArchetypes - VisionMaker, PassionMaker, HeartMaker and PeaceMaker leads.

EP42 | HOW to change your mindset

We all know that it's our mindset that affects our performance the most - we are reminded of this on TED talks, in self-help books and even high level business conferences. But HOW on earth do we do something about it?

We've all tried affirmations, quotes, retreats, will-power and even therapy... so why are we still hitting a glass ceiling? In this podcast I chat about what has worked and what has worked for me in working with my mindset for over 30 years.
